Foreword

Since 2003, together with Rev. Olof Lindstrom of Baptist Union of Sweden, a friend and partner, we have published some books, articles, messages, stories, short biographies of lives, ministries and people’s struggle for freedom, justice and human rights together with other ecumenical literatures. We also published practical tips on farming to reach our people for a healtier life, by planting our own fruits and vegetables, not sprayed with poisonous pesticides.

From 2003 to 2011, we have published 9 small books all in printed form.

This year, I will publish “MEMORIES: Life and Time of Pastor Rudy Bernal, His Glimpses on History & the People’s Struggle for Freedom” It will be shared soon on his website: www.rodolfobernal.com

The book, will share the lives of people who helped shaped the social, political, economic, spiritual and literary horizon of our people struggling for freedom and justice and people of other countries and share the voices and dreams of those who have fallen in the struggle against the forces of oppression and injustice.

For “MEMORIES” I would like to quote again the words of Dr. Edwin Lester Ruiz, Professor of Theology at New York Theological Seminary, who came from Iloilo City, Philippines, which he shared during the prnting of our book in 2007, entiled, “PERSONALITIES IN OUR TIME: From Asia and Europe”

“For so long we have only heard the voices of those who have the power and the privilege to speak. Many times, these voices do not reflect our own hearts and minds. It is time that you speak…and speak with truth and power.

Today, “MEMORIES: Life and Time of Pastor Rudy Bernal, his Glimpses on History & the People’s Struggle for Freedom” will contribute a little in writing the underside of history.
