Rudy. youl wrote me a letter on June 9, 2020. But I but I just opened it today –Brother Noel is a church minister. He pastored Maao Evangelical Church, Maao, Bago City, Negros Occidental. He and his wife, Pastor Rosina Ilustre-Lapatha went and pastor a Baptist Churches in Canada until they retired. He and his wife are residing in Canada

Poor as we were, I noticed once you wore no socks so I remember giving you a peso bill to buy socks! Anyway… Wow! You're great to follow through your writings. Me? The regular mosquitoes don't cause malaria. That's what happens when bitten by this kind! My cousin Edith Derayunan had malaria I remember, in the mid '50's? …Pastor Alpha worked in the Philippines for some years, Then she was called to work in the United States. She is still working there doing different challenges. She resides in the United States.

Can you be ready for us? I don't know yet how many can come. Please confirm. Thank you. … Wow, Rudy, your memory is admirable. Wish this lockdown is over and we can see each other before I leave for Vancouver. I miss you guys.
On June 1, 2020 Limbay sent a note. -- Wow Rud, you remember all that from Grade 1. I can't remember my classmates. I only remember my teacher. I was only 5, actually not quite 5 when I was in Grade 1. I remember my teacher though. She is quite strict and cruel. She pinched you sa hita if you do something she didn't like. I can't remember what I did nga gin guripat ya ako. Tatay was so mad nga gintampa siya ni Tiger. She didn't do anything after that. Kon sa bagay may pag kasutil man ako sang bata pa ako. Maybe the reason why I was popular sa paradahan when I was a child until I grew up. I always get a ride from truck or jeepney to school. They call me muchacha ni Leon.
I love going to the market carrying a basket. I also very friendly to everyone. Indi bugalon. Indi man suplada. I just can't remember my classmates and what we were doing. Bully siguro ako kay nahadlok mga bata sa akon,
Since I am not from Cebu and no boyfriend there, I stayed in the dormitory always. I read books if I want, but most of all I read the love letters from boyfriend who was in iloilo at the time. During semestral break, you got 2 weeks to spend at home if your grades are good. Then, when you are at home, you know my father well. I am not allowed to go dating at all. That's one thing I never experienced as a single woman. Maybe I have gone out with my BF couple of times, but that's not allowed….Limbay is a head nurse and widow. She is now now living in Vancouver, Canada.

*Cecil Doligoza Navidad-### Yes, the home order has also some advantages. Now I’m able to admire and enjoy my beautiful flowers while sipping my coffee, listening to my Zumba music in my porch. Maybe later I will practice my piano. Well, just make the best of it. Thanks Rudy. I belong to a piano and keyboard group which we meet every Monday but it’s on hold right now. I play mostly classical music and we perform a free concert once a year. I think I play well and able to entertain people and myself when I’m bored .-Cecil, is a classmate. We visited her at home in high school and listened while she played her piano. She is a widow and resides in the United States.

Reading books, certainly, gives us that "nostalgic feeling" (when we were yet, "the young ones" )… Reading the chapter that share the story our arrests, she said: … Am sorry to hear what you went thru but am so glad you're now " alive and kicking" meaning " healthy and energetic! I'm flying for Iloilo today Saturday, July 11 with my daughter & Canadian son- in- law and 2 apos (5 & 8) together with my Canadian balae. Hope to see some of our classmates there. I’m still here in Calgary, Nong Rudy. Just arrived from seeing places like Cavite, Benguet & Baguio City. Right now I’m here in Mansilingan, Bacolod Cty at my sister’s place. Just waiting for the rain to stop so I could go home to Dumangas. We had our reunion at Cove Island in Cavite w/ my siblings & family. It was so much fun. My family are all okay, with my hubby, daughter & son- in- law (Canadian) , my 2 apo's both girls aged 5 & 8 and my balae.—Ligaga Divinagracia-Basilio, is working in Calgary, Canada. *Rev. Denmark Suison –### (On using herbs in the community as medicine and my recovery from stroke.) Wow! What a great effective job you’ve expended. True, God is our healer.We also need to do our share to work for complete healing. I commend you for dedication and hard works….. Your recovery is amazing. It surely show that good health is a joint venture with God and man. He do His part and we do ours…..When was the last time you saw ang Opthalmologist? Is the condition of you eyes still operable?....I have my cataract surgery 3 years ago and my vision is fine until now. I am 67 years today, 2018….Do you have PhilHealth and discounts at Iloilo Mission Hospital? If you have, I will help you with other expensese. -Rev. Suison has worked for several years as pastor in the Philippines. He went and pastored a church in the United States. He is now retired, and live with his wife and children in the United States

Ernesto Carvajal.with good examples to follow...a dedicated man of God...bless his life ministry...see him in heaven someday...Manoy Rudy introduce me to him when we all get together beyond the sunset... I want to shake hands with him and tell him because Manoy Rudy, you told us his his story. Open na mga schools, stricto lang galing ila gov’t damo requirements before maka open kag maka start sang klase, observe man gihapon ang wearing of mask kag social distancing... Maayo kay diutay lang man mga cases ang mga provinces da? . Kabay pa nga matapos na ni ang covid-19 kag back to normal na da para mkapuli kami... regards lang dira sa inyo . Nida Mamon Pumarin Bernal is a public school teacher in Carles before. She transferred to Pototan. She with her son , daughter- in- law ang grandchild are in China,. They are not allowed to travel to the Philippines, meantime.

*Rev. Kenneth Kho ### (On April 15, 2020 I posted Rev. Olof Lindstroms death.) Thanks for sharing this Manoy Rudy Bernal. Sorry to know about Rev. Olof Lindstrom’s passing. I know you were a close friend to him. I met him when you brought him to visit the cooperative connected with Ochando-Dumaguit Evang Church, New Washington, Aklan many years ago. I was pastor there from June 1989- Aug 1992. I, too, was a member of the cooperative. I was always appreciative of the works of the Baptist Union of Sweden BUS). which Olof represented and of course, your work, also. My impression of him was that he was a very humble person doing God’s work. May his memory live on with us who continue to serve… Rev. Kenneth Kho was from Bacolod City. He pastor Ochando -Dumaguet Evang. Church in Aklan; then went to the United States where he is a pastor until today…He and his wife are in the United States.
* Rev. Jasper Candole ### (On his good health). Yes, the fresh air, the food (veggies), the daily walk, they all contribute a lot, Manoy Rod. Plus a mindset that tells me I am not that old yet...ha,ha,ha... God bless you Pastor….Rev. Candole is pastor of a church in Palawan. He resides there with his wife.
Vicente D. Abulucion### On June 8, 2020, I was reading your book “My First Year High School in Mindanao” which was from Blogger. – Vic sent me a note. He said: “During that time they brought down from the mountain meat of wild pigs, not only native pigs but hi-bred pigs ”…Also during that time, 1951-1957, I was in my elementary in Norala, Cotabato, I had my high school in Kalawag Institute (now King's College). Kalawag was in the Poblacion while Isulan was only a barrio. Now it's the reverse because the highway passes Isulan. Kalawag remains where it was before….Remember Rudy we were boardmate in house of Pastor Ernesto Carvajal that got burned..-- Vic is a pastor. He is living with his wife in Jaro, Iloilo City.)

When Jovito is gone I have to take care of everything. I can stay out gardening for 6 hours. Yesterday I transferred my IRIS to the backyard. It is my form of exercise. Keep healthy you guys. *Bulaclac Linda Tyler### When I asked her why I did not see her when I and Hesther was married on April 19, 1978. ..Ohh yeah I was around but I stay home because only sister Lota and Lolita attended your wedding., I have to look after the house and younger brothers and sisters.
She said: I left Manila,Dec 31 1985 at about 10 p.m. we were flying over Mindanao going toward Sydney so we have the New year celebration up in the air. The Pilot doesn't say anything even Happy New Year. It was a very quiet New Year!! And that is in Qantas! Unbelievable. …
I love to stay in Philippines to celebrate the New Year but my husband was in a hurry to get out because we could be trapped in Philippines. There was rally every where. We attended the fiesta of Central Maao.--Bulaclac Linda Tyler is living with her husband in Australia.
